2009 Season of Giving

The Bobcats hosted a holiday party for children of season-ticket holders, with an “admission fee” of an unwrapped toy, which will be given to underprivileged children at the Salvation Army Women & Children’s Shelter. Children of season-ticket holders mingled with players and decorated cookies. Entertainment included Rufus, DJ Bobcat, mini-golf, pop-a-shot, balloon artists and face painters.

Bobcats Adopt Families

Bobcats players Stephen Jackson and Tyson Chandler played Santa this year by sponsoring families in need for the holiday season. Jackson and his wife hosted a family of six at a game and enjoyed a gift exchange after the game. Chandler and over 10 members of his family went on a shopping spree with two families in need. Holiday Hospital Visit

Bobcats players Stephen Jackson, Gerald Henderson and Derrick Brown visited kids in Presbyterian Hemby Children’s Hospital as an early holiday treat, spending time with the youngsters and bringing them some holiday gifts. Story | Gallery | Video |
Feed the Children

Bobcats guard Raymond Felton and international hunger relief organization Feed The Children teamed up to provide 400 needy Charlotte families with boxes of food and personal care items. Felton is in his third year partnering with Feed The Children and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina to help needy families during the holiday season. Gallery | Video |
Hoops and Hopes Dinner

Over 200 children and their families were able to experience a Thanksgiving treat that they will never forget recently when six members of the Charlotte Bobcats served dinner to them at Jillian’s for the Bobcat Sixth Annual Hoops and Hope Dinner. Story | Gallery | Video |
Street Turkeys
| The Bobcats collected 1,500 pounds of food, $525 and 30 turkeys for their annual Street Turkeys event. Together with WFNZ, $17,255, 920 turkeys and 10,200 pounds of food were collected to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank and Loaves and Fishes. Gallery | Release |
Dunk Hunger

Fans attending Bobcats home games in December were encouraged to bring canned food or non-perishable food items to aid in the fight against hunger.
