“We’re very excited to have a player of Cedric’s caliber,” said Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnon. “To add a player right now with his NBA experience will be an excellent addition for our team as well as our great fans in the Treasure Valley.”
In his two seasons with the NBA, Simmons played for three teams including the Hornets, Cavaliers, and Bulls. He played in 57 games, including four starts, and averaged 4.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. He played two seasons at North Carolina State and was named to the ACC All-Defensive team as an Honorable Mention during his sophomore season.
Simmons will be in uniform tomorrow night when the Stampede take on the Dakota Wizards in Boise. Stampede center Jeff Graves was released from the team due to an injury.
